ABOUT IBERSA PERU

Ibersa Peru is a Peruvian Company located at Lima City. Ibersa Peru started his operations in the year 1976, by working mainly as a commercial representative of foreign manufacturers of high, medium and low voltage products. Later, when customs duties taxes of imported products were significantly increased, Ibersa Peru carried out a joint venture with a local manufacturer of medium voltage metal-clad switchgears and protection/control panels, with the purpose to furnish a competitive service to his clients. In this new activity, Ibersa Peru has received several supports from foreign manufacturers, mainly from General Electric U.S.A. and Sprecher+Schuh from Switzerland,-actually Alstom- to develop the products that Ibersa Peru trades in the Peruvian Market.

By the 80’s, Ibersa Peru had a total of 11 workers, among technical people at factory, administrative personnel, salesmen and executives at managing area. The commercial and administrative offices of Ibersa Peru are located in the sixth floor of the Inclán Building (Coronel Inclán 135, Miraflores, Lima 18), and the factory and warehouses in the district of “Puente Piedra” (“Stone Bridge"), Shangri-La, at 24.5 kilometers north coast of Lima. The factory has a total area of 33,000 square feet and the appropriate facilities to fulfill with the purpose of assembling medium voltage metal-clad switchgears, and protection/control panels."

MANUFACTURING SERVICE

Design, manufacturing, mounting, connection and put in service of metal-clad switchgears up to 36 kV and motors control centers up to 5 kV (at present in stand-by situation). Design, manufacturing, connection and put in service of protection and control panels for medium and high voltage systems (transmission lines and power substations).

Ibersa Peru participates in public and private bids and tenders on equipment for H.V. and M.V. transmission lines and power substations, with customers of private and public areas.

SUPPLIES

Ibersa Peru counts with specialized people to supply electromechanical service during erection, commissioning, or lately during maintenance phase, as requested by customer.

One of the main jobs developed in this area, refers to the Contract N° 77681 signed in 1994 with ELECTROPERU, for US$ 5.5 million, on the supply, erection, commissioning and one month operation of thirty three (33) circuit breakers GEC ALSTHOM / SPRECHER of 245 kV and 362 kV, SF6 version, which was concluded satisfactorily in 1996.

Enclosed herewith there is a copy of a color photograph of “Pomacocha” Substation (“LA SUBESTACION MAS ALTA DEL MUNDO”), the highest one in the world, installed at 4,800 meters above sea level, where Ibersa Peru put in service six (06) circuit-breakers of 362 kV, but previously it was needed to disassemble the existing 362 kV Magrini circuit breakers, activity which was also made by Ibersa Peru , as an EPC job.

Another important job on high voltage substation, was the contract signed with ETECEN –now REP (RED DE ENERGIA DEL PERU)– on the supply of one 50 MVA, 220 kV, HYUNDAI Power Transformer, for the “PIURA-OESTE” Substation, including the supply of protection and control panels, which were assembled in our local facilities before mentioned.

 

 


ASSEMBLE AND COMMISSION

All the equipments were transported and discharged by Ibersa Peru at site (900 kilometers north coast of Lima).

Later in the year 2000, Ibersa Peru has been very active with the supply of Southern Pine wood poles complying with ANSI Standards from U.S.A., and our main clients have been companies like EDELNOR (main energy distributor in the north area of Lima city), TECSUR / LUZ DEL SUR (main energy distributor in the south area of Lima city), COMPAÑIA DE MINAS BUENAVENTURA (polymetallic mining company in the Peruvian Andeans) and the most important : UNOPS / MINISTERIO DE ENERGIA Y MINAS (Ministry of Energy and Mines / Peruvian Government entity in charge of the rural electrification in the Andeans).

Please note that our main reference in transmission lines is related to two (2) contracts that we obtained from MEM (Ministry of Energy and Mines), concerning to the supply of 40,000 poles on the first contract signed in 1999 and for 53,220 poles on the second contract signed in December 2002, for a total amount of : US$ 7’632,649.55 + US$7’284,773.10 = US$ 14,917,422.65 (see copies enclosed).

PROJECTS

During the year 2006, one of the main projects, in which IBERSA has participated, is the one named : “CHILCA” / T&D / Substation and 245 kV Transmission Line, on which we supplied :

• US$ 1’250,000 in ARTECHE H.V. metering transformers
• US$ 450,000 in metallic poles from TUBO Y POSTES (Mexico) for the 245 kV T.L. “SAN JUAN – CHILCA”
• US$ 155,000 in 245 kV polymeric insulators for the “CHILCA” Substation

In the year 2007, we obtained an important purchase order for an amount of US$ 1’000,000 related to the digital automation of the 220 kV, 120 MVA, “CHILLON” Substation from EDELNOR, with equipments supplied from EFACEC, Portugal.
